Unlimited... what?

Well, I've made another rookie mistake.

I've had quite the internet challenges since I've been here and I'm not going to go into detail describing them because it is so ultra frustrating... but I thought I remedied all my internet woes when I bought my own wireless with 5GB of data. That should do the trick! I've never gone over 3GB of data so I figured 5 would cover me.

WRONG.

5GB of data were no match for my loneliness last night.

I was bummed out last night and feeling lonely when I found a way to watch So You Think You Can Dance on my computer. It was like Christmas in August for me! In my greedy addiction to get current with the show (I watched 3 shows = 3 hours) I used all my data... *jaw drop* but I din't realize that was the problem.

You see, I fell asleep watching the 3rd show... while I was sleeping the internet went out (since the pre paid money had all been used) and when I woke up... I didn't have internet. I couldn't figure it out. I spent from 830am-930 am trying to get it to work doing various troubleshooting tricks and the such with no luck. So I walk (no buses on weekends) to the mall at 9:45 (figuring they would open at 10) and I get there and they don't open until 11, so I walk all the way back home and just sit in my room doing nothing since I dont have internet. Then at 1045 I walk back. I spend 30 minutes in the store with the lady trying to figure it out, she got a new sim card for my device, shut it off and on etc etc until another guy comes up and looks at it and just goes "Your money is out. Been watching tv or movies??"

DAMN YOU SYTYCD!

I totally forgot that internet/wireless here ISN'T unlimited. In my loneliness i didn't think to remember that watching 3 hours of video might suck up all my data... ugh! So in a few days I used 5GB of data.

So at the store I bought 3GB of data for $50 and I am hoping I can make it last... no more videos.... just blogs and school internet research.

So needless to say I've had a frustrating day! It's hard to get used to different systems that you aren't used to. Obviously I am still adjusting. I am hoping that when I move into my new flat my new roommates will be more adventurous and I can spend more time doing things with them than using data to entertain myself!

Just know we're here thinking of you right now and are sorry that, of course, there are lonely times. Stay active if you choose and it sounds like there's a few people already at least to hang with or talk to...
We love you!
