Ummm... what are you doing??

No seriously....

If you know me well enough you can hear the exact way I just said that title, and the facial expression I made with it...

Looked something like that.

So here's the deal. I feel like my International Human Rights teacher is kind of a dope. She just reads off her power point slides to us. That's it... Seriously? I could do that in my dorm room. She doesn't stimulate discussion or ask questions... just reads her power point slides. Unlucky for her, we are critically thinking academic students hungry for knowledge and proper instruction, and we question her statements, and bring up contradictions, explore alternative solutions, and challenge her (in the appropriate inquisitive way).

Buuuuuuuut she doesn't really respond. She will always say vague things like "Well that illustrates a good point" and "Good thinking!" and "Hmmm...now where was I?" never answering the question, or exploring the topics that are brought up. It's annoying!

So like I said... "Ummm.. what are you doing?" Because it sure doesn't feel like teaching.

That's too bad. As you know, that's what's known as " Phoning in your job." I'm hoping it will become more interactive and meaningful for you. But still, mad props for at least trying to initiate some sort of lively discussion. You'll find complacency all throughout your adult life....use it as incentive to be the best you can be and not....just phoning it in!
Keep up the excellent work!
Love, Pops
