Ramble Ramble

I'm just going to ramble in this post. No theme.

Today has been lame and I'm annoyed about it.

I re-organized and cleaned my room. I cleaned the kitchen, Michelle cleaned the bathroom (it smells amazing now, and is sans hair) I went to school...I mean UNI and printed out papers that I need for my class, ate some pizza and hot chocolate. I want to go DO something but I'm feeling kinda shy and I feel like its awkward to just go up to one of my new friends and say "I'm bored lets do something!" So instead I am just sitting in my room doing nothing.

I haven't written in a while because I've been suffering from horrible cramps. Oh, TMI? You'll survive. Just being honest with you guys.

My sleeping habits are all off again...super annoying.

I want to go jog but its almost dark already. The gym closes at 8, and I'm not a member because its too expensive. I guess I could do crunches in my room or something? haha. I just need to start being active again.

I have TONS of reading to do but my head will explode if I do any more.

I've been looking for a cheap hotel in Sydney to book for my semester break because Ryan bought a flight to come see me :D I am going to meet him in Sydney and we are going to spend my break there together! I am really excited about that! So I've been researching where to go, what to do, and where to stay. Haven't found the right place yet, but I've gotten lots of good information. I miss my boyfriend. :(

Last night I went to Steph's unit for "girls night" and we just hung out and relaxed and talked... it was nice. Steph's boyfriend and one of his friends ended up stopping by and we had some great America vs. Australia convos as a group discussing politics and gun laws and prison reform. It was actually fun.

Some terms that get confused here:

COURSE: In the US it means 'class' but here in Aussieland it means 'major.' For example people will say "What's your course?" and I used to say "Oh I have 4...." Thinking of my classes as courses and they would say "OMG you have 4 COURSES?" Thinking I have 4 majors. So thats annoying.

UNIT: Unit means 'class' in Australia. Unit is the measurement of a class in the US. So one class in the US is worth 3 units, but a unit in australia means 'class.' All my teachers here will say "Welcome to this unit.... International Human Rights..."

PITCH: Pitch in america means "to throw in a baseball game" but here it is a 'cricket field' So last night we were watching Cricket and I said "Wow that's an intense pitch!" (If you have seen someone pitch (throw) in cricket you know what I mean) and they were so confused... they were like "Its just a normal pitch..." then we realized I was talking about the style of throwing and they thought I was talking about the field.

Trolley means cart. Shopping trolley, not shopping cart.

I'm starting to get an accent when I say certain words... it's very slight but I caught it the other day.

Michelle gave me lots of good suggestions about what to do in Sydney and how to do it. She's fun to talk to. I like her.

Well I'm going to go back to the books now. Feeling blah.

That sounds super ( that Ryan's flying down)! We're super excited for you so keep surfing the net for your best price and what to do. I'm sure, with all your friends, you'll have plenty of activities to pick from in Sydney! What a great thing to look forward to!!
